Burn injuries affect over 11 million people every year and cause more than 265,000 deaths—most of them in low income countries. Survivors often live with severe pain, disability, stigma, and trauma. Yet, care for burn victims, especially rehabilitation, is severely lacking in places like Pakistan.
This Burns Rehabilitation project [NIHR203082] has developed a new national
programme that offers treatment and long-term support for survivors.
